Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how OneAthlete ("OneAthlete," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the OneAthlete mobile app.

1. What OneAthlete Does

OneAthlete provides guided audio sessions and an AI mental-performance coach to help athletes prepare, perform, recover, reflect, and sleep.

OneAthlete is not a medical or mental-health service and is not a substitute for professional care. It is not an emergency service.

2. Information You Provide

Depending on how you use the app, you may provide:

• Profile details such as your name and sport.
• Training-day preferences and onboarding answers about performance challenges and goals.
• Messages you send to the AI coach.
• Reflections and other coaching context created through the app.
• Session activity, such as which sessions you have played.
• Notification preferences.
• Purchase information needed to confirm subscription access.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

OneAthlete is designed to be local-first. Your profile, preferences, coach history, reflections, and session activity are stored on your device unless content is sent to the AI coach as described below.

We do not currently provide account creation or cloud synchronization for this data.

You can clear coach history or delete all app data from Settings. Deleting local app data does not cancel an Apple subscription. Deleting the app may also delete data stored locally by the app.

4. AI Mental-Performance Coach

When you use the AI coach, OneAthlete sends information needed to generate a relevant response. This may include:

• Your message.
• Recent coach messages and a limited summary of earlier coach history.
• Relevant profile details, onboarding answers, training schedule, reflections, and session activity.
• Safety classifications generated on your device when a message indicates a possible crisis or immediate risk.

When you tap to speak, OneAthlete may use on-device speech recognition to show a provisional live draft while you are recording. After you tap to stop, the audio recording is sent through the OneAthlete server to OpenAI for final transcription. You can review and edit that transcript before choosing to send it to the coach. Temporary recording files are removed after use.

Requests are routed through a server operated for OneAthlete and hosted by Cloudflare. The server protects provider credentials, validates requests, and applies per-installation rate limits. A random installation identifier is used for rate limiting and is not intended to identify you personally.

The AI provider is OpenAI. OpenAI processes API inputs and outputs under its own terms and privacy practices. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default unless the API customer opts in. OpenAI's standard API controls may retain prompts, responses, and related metadata for safety monitoring and service operation, generally for up to 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law or for security.

Do not send information to the coach that you are not comfortable having processed by these providers. Avoid sharing payment details, passwords, government identifiers, confidential team information, medical records, or private information about other people.

5. Notifications

If you enable notifications, OneAthlete uses local notifications for app reminders, including a reminder before an eligible free trial ends. Notification preferences are stored on your device. We do not use notifications for advertising or cross-app tracking.

6. Purchases and Subscriptions

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple processes payments, manages billing and subscription status, and provides entitlement information to the app. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Apple handles App Store and payment information under Apple's own terms and privacy policies.

7. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

OneAthlete currently does not use third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs.

If this changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and any required App Store privacy disclosures.

8. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide and personalize the app's sessions and coaching features.
• Generate AI coach responses when you choose to use the coach.
• Maintain subscription access.
• Provide notifications you request.
• Improve, debug, protect, and operate the app.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

9. When Information Is Shared

We share information only as needed to operate the app:

• With OpenAI when you use the AI coach.
• With Cloudflare, which hosts the server that routes AI requests and stores rate-limit counters.
• With Apple for purchases, subscriptions, system permissions, notifications, and App Store distribution.
• With service providers or authorities when reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or protection of rights and safety.

10. Retention and Deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or iOS removes it.

AI content sent to OpenAI and operational data handled by Cloudflare are retained according to their applicable policies and our service configuration. Apple retains Apple-managed purchase and subscription records under its policies.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No device, app, network, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Children

OneAthlete is not intended for children under 13. Athletes under the age of majority where they live should use the app only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

13. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because OneAthlete is local-first, much of your information is controlled directly through the app and your device.

14. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or through the App Store.
